The Australian Junior Billie Jean King Cup team will return to the Finals later this year following their fourth-place finish at the Asia/Oceania Qualifiers in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

With the top four teams progressing to the year-end finals, Australia built momentum in the group stage, winning all three of their ties. Angel Warang, Emilie Chen and Tori Russell combined for eight victories from their nine rubbers.

This ensured a quarterfinals berth against India, where a 2-1 victory ensured qualification for the 2026 Finals, achieving the feat for the fifth-straight year.

It adds to a strong period for Australia in junior team events, after Novak Palombo, Sebastian Lavorato and Christopher Manton helped secured World Junior Tennis Finals qualification for the boys’ 14/u team in Kuching, Malaysia a fortnight ago.

This week's most outstanding performers include:

Storm Hunter and Ellen Perez: After the pair reached the semifinals together in Rome last year, Hunter and Perez had strong campaigns at the WTA 1000 tournament with their respective partners. Hunter made the final four again, doing so with Jessica Pegula, while Perez progressed to the quarterfinals with Demi Schuurs.

Philip Sekulic: The 22-year-old reached his first ATP Challenger final since the Granby Challenger in August 2023, achieving the feat in Bengaluru, India.

John Peers: The Victorian reached the semifinals of the Bordeaux Challenger, teaming up with local Theo Arribage to produce a campaign that included defeating the experienced pairing of Sander Gille and Sem Verbeek.

Gabriella Da Silva-Fick and Tenika Mcgiffin: Following their semifinals appearance in Jiujiang, China last week, the pair played in the final of a W75 tournament in Kurume, Japan this week.

Jake and Jesse Delaney: Their first tournament together since October 2025, the Delaney brothers claimed the doubles title at an ITF M15 crown in Wuning, China. The week was even better for Jake, who also won his first singles crown of the year.

Ty Host and Stefan Vujic: The duo claimed silverware at the M15 tournament in Gaborone, Botswana, winning six consecutive sets en route. Vujic also reached the quarterfinals in the singles.

Lizette Cabrera: The Queenslander advanced to the quarterfinals in Kurume, Japan. It marks her second-straight quarterfinal and her fourth for 2026.

Matthew Dellavedova: The 25-year-old continued his solid form in Nakhom Pathom, reaching the final of the M15 event. Dellavedova has won seven of his nine matches in the Thai city over the past fortnight.

Tai Sach: His second ITF quarterfinal of the year, Sach recorded two straight-sets victories en route to the final eight at an M15 tournament in Andong, South Korea.

Elizabeth Ivanov: The teenager competed in her first ITF singles quarterfinal in Gaborone, set up by a 6-2 6-2 victory against South African Abigayel Vosloo in the opening round.

Jizelle Sibai: As Roland Garros juniors nears, Sibai won her fifth junior doubles crown at a J300 tournament in Santa Croce, Italy. She paired with Latvian Marija Lauva to emerge victorious.
