Switzerland has become a happy hunting ground for Marc Polmans, who won his second ATP doubles title in the European country.
After claiming his maiden crown in Geneva in May, Polmans teamed up with Austrian Lucas Miedler to triumph in Gstaad. Clinching the trophy at Roy Emerson Arena, the Victorian felt at home, defeating Marcelo Demoliner and Robert Galloway 6-3 6-4 in 64 minutes.
“Winning the title is amazing,” Polmans told atptour.com. “My first season playing mainly doubles, so it’s nice to pick up another title. I love playing here in Switzerland. It seems to be my lucky place to play, so I look forward to coming back here next year.”
The Australian No.1, who has moved up to world No.26, will pair with Miedler in Kitzbuhel, Austria. John-Patrick Smith will also compete at the tournament alongside Brazilian Fernando Romboli.
On the WTA circuit, Maya Joint will compete in her first tournament since defeating Serena Williams at Wimbledon. She features at the Prague 250 tournament, facing local Laura Samson in the first round.
On the Challenger Tour, Adam Walton, Dane Sweeny, Tristan Schoolkate, Bernard Tomic and Thanasi Kokkinakis will feature in singles action at the Bloomfield Hills event in California.
James McCabe and Philip Sekulic will fly the Australian flag at the Winnipeg Challenger, with Pavle Marinkov, Edward Winter, Enzo Aguiard and Thomas Fancutt aiming to qualify for the event.
