Australia’s club tennis community is set to come alive this October with a new opportunity for local premiership teams.

The National League Finals will see teams who have won a local league premiership – at any level, between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026 – eligible to apply to compete. The new competition will feature women’s doubles and open doubles formats, and different sections of play based on UTR Rating – promising an inclusive and social experience for club players.

The National League Finals provides the chance for tennis enthusiasts to meet other like-minded teams from across Australia, for a weekend of connection, community and friendly competition.

Players don’t need to be the next Carlos Alcaraz or Elena Rybakina to enjoy the action – shanked forehands, dodgy slices and questionable volleys are all welcome.

Tournament Director Sean Spralja is excited for not only the first staging of the National League Finals, but also for its impact on grassroots tennis.

“The National League Finals promises to showcase club tennis, as well as provide a flow-on effect at local level with more reason than ever to engage with local leagues – no matter your standard of play,” he said.

A round-robin doubles format provides plenty of opportunities to mingle with other competitors, and local functions and events following play mean connections formed at the National League Finals last well beyond the event.

The 2026 event will be held from Friday 16 October-Sunday 18 October at Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club and Gold Coast Albert Junior Tennis Club.

Entries for the 2026 tournament close 9am on Monday 27 July. Teams who are chosen to participate will be advised shortly after this date.
