It was a hugely successful Monday for Australians in doubles at Wimbledon, with four players keeping their campaigns alive.
Storm Hunter and Marc Polmans continued their mixed doubles form, progressing to the semifinals after a straight-sets victory over Argentine Guido Andreozzi and Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi.
Thanasi Kokkinakis, alongside American partner Aleksandar Kovacevic, upstaged Australian Open 2026 champions Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski to reach the men’s doubles quarterfinals.
And Ellen Perez, seeded ninth with Demi Schuurs, secured her place in the women’s doubles quarterfinals after Marta Kostyuk and Elena-Gabriela Ruse withdrew. Perez and Schuurs next face 13th seeds Shuko Aoyama and Liang En-shuo.
After triumphing over top-seeded Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori in the second round, Hunter and Polmans maintained the momentum in their quarterfinal encounter on Monday.
The pair launched eight aces to two in their 7-6(5) 7-5 victory, both reaching their first mixed doubles semifinal at the All-England Club.
Hoping to become the first all-Australian pairing to win the crown at Wimbledon since John Fitzgerald and Liz Smylie in 1991, Hunter and Polmans will next face established doubles players Mate Pavic and Fanny Stollar.
Twelve months after Rinky Hijikata formed part of an alternate pairing who reached the Wimbledon final, Kokkinakis is striving for a similar run. He and Kovacevic, the only unseeded pair through to the men’s doubles quarterfinals, are now two wins away from replicating Hijikata's feat.

After earning their spot in the final eight with a 7-6(4) 7-6(5) win over Harrison and Skupski, No.14 seeds Austin Krajicek and Nikola Mektic await.
In other results on Day 8, Alex de Minaur’s singles run came to a halt when he was defeated by Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli 7-5 7-6(4) 6-3.
Also, Renee Alame fell to 14th seed Anna Pushkareva 6-4 6-3, while Jake Dembo and Daniel Jovanovski were a match tiebreak away from winning their first round boys’ doubles encounter.
