Super 10s

Where talented under-10 players come together to grow, excel and connect.

About Super 10s

Super 10s players during the 2024 Australian Open.

Super 10s is a national program that brings together promising young tennis players aged 10 and under. Held in all major Australian cities, it provides a nurturing, team-based environment where players can compete, learn and build friendships with other standout players in their state.

In 2026, Super 10s is evolving to further strengthen its role as a foundational step in Tennis Australia’s player development pathway. The program will continue to prioritise high-quality experiences that support skill and character development, encourage teamwork among players and families, and create a positive, engaging environment for both players and parents.

More than just matches

Super 10s offers players unique experiences beyond regular competition:

  • Australian Open opportunities
Selected players may participate in the AO National Super 10s Camp, tailored for those born in 2015 for AO 2026.
  • Exclusive experiences
Opportunities include coin toss privileges at the Australian Open, on-court demonstrations, behind-the-scenes tours and interactions with professional players.
  • Talent Development Camps
Potential invitations to Tennis Australia Talent Development Camps for further growth.
  • Ongoing guidance
Talent Development Managers in each state provide regular feedback and insights to parents, athletes and coaches to ensure all participants can excel in their tennis careers.

Super 10s Advantage Program

The Advantage Program complements the Super 10s season, offering all participants extra opportunities for growth both on and off the court.

Each player involved in Super 10s is invited to attend these small-group development sessions, led by Tennis Australia’s Talent Team. Groups are carefully matched based on players’ skill levels and commitment to the game.

In 2026, the Super 10s Advantage Program will continue with improved alignment:

  • Squads remain a high-quality development training environment for selected athletes.
  • The program will run alongside Super 10s camps, providing regular touchpoints with the Talent Team.
  • A streamlined structure will make it easier to understand how the program links to Super 10s, Green Ball events and transitions into NDP Connect.
  • Be aligned to Tennis Australia’s Player Development Matrix, ensuring families and coaches clearly understand the developmental focus, how progression is assessed, and how it links to the wider pathway.

For parents and coaches

Parents and private coaches are welcome to attend the Advantage Program sessions. Coaches are also encouraged to join in drills and gain insight into the athlete’s development. Additionally, there will be sessions provided which cover:

  • education topics tailored to 10-and-under players
  • Q&A opportunities with the Talent Team
  • guidance on how to set balanced training loads and long-term development goals.

What's new in 2026

From 2026, the Super 10s program will evolve to align with an expanded and strengthened national Green Ball (GB) competition landscape.

With increased quality and volume of local, state and national GB events, Super 10s for 2026 will look slightly different in its overall design and delivery. This evolution ensures Super 10s complements, rather than competes with, Green Ball competition. Moving forward, the focus is on clearer role definition across the pathway, where:

  • Green Ball events provide the primary competition platform.
  • Super 10s prioritises high-quality player development training, learning environments and targeted match play experiences that support the competition calendar without duplication.

These updates reflects our belief to cultivate a player’s potential through a nationally aligned pathway that supports learning, growth, a love for tennis, and long-term development for young athletes across Australia.

Super 10s will sit alongside a structured national Green Ball pathway, supporting smoother transitions and stronger alignment between training and competition:

  • Green Ball State Series & Race – Greater Talent Team and State Head Coach presence at key Green Ball events, including State Series events, State Finals and Green Ball Nationals.
  • Individualised tournament scheduling support – The Tennis Australia Talent Team can work collaboratively with families and private coaches to recommend a tailored tournament schedule for athletes, incorporating local, state and national events in a way that supports long-term development.

To strengthen development opportunities across the year, new Green Ball State Camps will be introduced – designed to complement regular coaching environments, not replace them.

These camps provide athletes with exposure to national principles of ecological training design, decision-making development and high-quality learning environments. Progression through the year will intentionally build towards Green Ball Nationals in November 2026.

Super 10s Australian Open National GB Camp will continue to connect selected players and coaches from across the country.

The State of Origin–style events will remain in 2026 for eligible players aged 9-10 years old to participate in inter-state match play (e.g. SA vs VIC, NSW vs VIC) across a dedicated weekend. These events reward engagement in the pathway while providing a fun, motivating state-versus-state team based competitive experience.

Who can participate

Super 10s is open to boys and girls who are 10 years old or younger.

To be eligible, players should demonstrate:

  • Tournament experience: Participation/Performance in Green Ball Series events, club or regional competitions.
  • Commitment: A dedication to ongoing development and active participation in training and matches.
  • Character: Support for fellow athletes and be courteous to all staff, coaches, players and parents.
