Tennis Australia is proud to announce Deloitte as the Official Partner of its Learn2Lead program, reinforcing a shared commitment to inspire the next generation of women leaders in tennis across the country.

Learn2Lead is Tennis Australia’s flagship leadership initiative designed to support young women and girls to step into coaching, officiating and leadership roles within the sport.

Through tailored workshops, mentoring and hands-on development, the 8-week program provides young women aged 14-18 with the skills, confidence and networks needed to lead on and off the court.

During the program the participants undertake an Action Learning Project, where each participant develops a practical initiative to address an opportunity or challenge for women and girls within their local tennis club.

Deloitte’s partnership will strengthen the program’s national reach and enhance participant experiences, supporting delivery across metropolitan and regional locations.

Tennis Australia’s Head of Women and Girls Andrea Buckeridge said the new partnership is a significant step forward for the program.

“We are excited to partner with Deloitte to create more opportunities for young women and girls in tennis. Together, we can further elevate the impact of the Learn2Lead program and inspire more young women to take their next step in leadership,” Buckeridge said.

“At Deloitte, we are passionate about building inclusive pathways and supporting the leaders of tomorrow. Partnering with Tennis Australia’s Learn2Lead program gives us an opportunity to help support women and girls through sport, equipping them with valuable leadership skills that extend far beyond the court,” Lead Partner Deloitte – Australian Sports Practice Sandra Sweeney said.

The Learn2Lead program is being rolled out nationally, with Anushka one of the 15 recent graduates of the Victorian cohort.

“It was a really enlightening experience. I felt like I truly connected with the other girls and discovered we had far more in common than I initially expected.

Before the program, I played a lot of tennis but didn’t really engage with the broader community - whether that was club members, committee representatives or leaders. The Learn2Lead program helped me step outside that space, connect with people, and get involved in organising events.

It gave me a behind-the-scenes insight into how the tennis community operates, and I felt like I had a real voice and sense of responsibility. For the first time, I truly saw myself as a leader.

This program is all about developing leadership skills, and it’s had a huge impact on my confidence. Being able to communicate with the community, create change, and see that impact in real life has been amazing,” Anushka said.
