Junior tennis competitions are designed to grow with each player. Most young players begin with Coloured Ball Competitions – where they learn how to compete, keep score and enjoy matches in a fun, supportive environment.

As skills and confidence develop, players can progress into national tours. These events introduce rankings, points and the chance to compete towards a finals event for prizes.

Coloured Ball Competitions

These beginner-friendly events use modified equipment and rules to make competitive play fun and accessible.

De Minaur Junior Tour

Compete in this exciting, age-specific tour for a chance to win the De Minaur Junior Tour Finals and an exclusive scholarship.

16U Australian Junior Tour

Designed for older junior players, this tour is your chance to test your skills, earn recognition and qualify for your State Finals.

The junior tournament pathway is designed to support your growth as a competitive tennis player. Whether you're just getting started or aiming for national-level competition, there's a clear structure to guide your journey.

As your skills and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) improve, you can move through the following levels:

Junior Community Series

A great starting point for players with limited or no tournament experience. These local events offer a friendly environment to get comfortable with competitive matches.

Junior Development Series (JDS)

Ideal for developing players who are beginning to take competition more seriously. JDS events are typically regionally based and help build match confidence and competitive habits.

J125 and J250

These events are the next step up – offering more competitive matches and opportunities to build your UTR. They attract players with more experience and are often stepping stones to higher-level play.

J500 and J1000

High-level junior tournaments for advanced players – drawing top juniors from across the state or country and offering strong competition, greater UTR impact and visibility for player development pathways.
