Australian Open ‘AO’ Community Grants support projects that use tennis as the vehicle to improve community connectedness and the health and wellbeing of people from underrepresented groups, including but not limited to people with┬ádisability, multicultural communities, Indigenous Australians and those who identify as LGBTI.

Tennis Australia seeks applications for creative and sustainable participation programs that will provide local underrepresented groups the opportunity to engage with tennis in ways that are meaningful for them.

Applicants who showcase local partnerships and sustainable pathways for ongoing participation will be favoured.

Funding Priorities

AO Community Grants will have a strong emphasis on programs that enhance a sense of community belonging for deserving communities or underrepresented groups, including:

  • Indigenous Australians
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • LGBTI people and communities
  • Persons with disabilities
