Community Leadership

There are a number of leadership programs available in Queensland for you to get involved.

WOMEN LEADERS IN TENNIS PROGRAM (18 years + women only)

  • Target Audience: 18+ years women only
  • Women are under-represented in Community Leadership with just 24% of club presidents being women in Queensland
  • Launched at the AO 2022, the Women Leaders in Tennis program aims to develop leadership skills and support Tennis in increasing participation of women and girls in community leadership roles.
  • Program delivery has commenced for 2022 with 44 women accepted for the program in Brisbane and Cairns this year
  • The program is valued at $4000 and fully subsidised for selected participants by Tennis Australia
  • Applications for 2022 are now closed

EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM  (14 years + mixed gender)

    • Target Audience: 14+ years open to all genders
    • Regional Assembly led initiative for 2022- Metro, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, South and Central
    • Gain experience in coaching and event delivery
    • Networking and career progression opportunities
    • Give back to the local tennis community

FUTURE LEADERS PROGRAM (15 -17 years Girls only)

  • Future Leaders builds self-confidence and resilience of young women by linking a passion for the sport to valuable life and leadership learnings.
  • In this program you will explore foundational values and lessons that apply to your own leadership pathway, whilst also creating connections with others and the community to build lasting bonds and a support system in Tennis.
  • Target Audience: Girls aged 15 – 17 years
  • Tennis Australia led initiative and fully subsidised for selected participants
  • Program was introduced in 2020 and currently under review
  • Future Leaders program will roll out in 2023
