The “Bolt to Brisbane” was introduced at the start of 2019 to bring together a South East regional challenge for orange and green ball players competing in tournaments. Gold Coast, Sunshine  Coast, and Brisbane regions (excluding South) selected players from their own criteria to represent each region at a finals event.

Bolt to Brisbane will now invite participation from across the state from each region.

Each region will have representation with team uniforms, team managers, and supervisors.

2023 Winning Region: Gold Coast

Eligibility

Each region will be invited to nominate 1 team of 4 players for each event.

Players must meet the following criteria:

• Must have a Tennis ID
• Age as of 31/12/2024 – Orange Ball | 10u, Green Ball | 11u
• Players that represent their region in the 2024 QLD JDS Finals or 2024 Battle of the Sands will be ineligible

The Bolt 2 Brisbane encompasses four (4) individual events:

1. Orange Ball Girls Singles
2. Orange Ball Boys Singles
3. Green Ball Girls Singles
4. Green Ball Boys Singles

Orange Ball – 10u

• Draw Format – 16 Monrad
• Match Format – First to 4 | Tie-Break at 3-all (7-point) | No AD Scoring
  (Receivers Choice)
• Points – each match won will contribute 1 point to the regions overall tally
• Bonus point will be awarded to the winner

Green Ball – 11u

• Draw Format – Pools of 4 with a semi-final and Final playoff for all players or
  32 Monrad (depending on entry numbers)
• Match Format – First to 6 | Tie-Break at 5-all (7-point) | No AD Scoring
  (Receivers Choice)
• Points – each match won will contribute 1 point to the regions overall tally
• Bonus point will be awarded to the winner

Player values of Best Effort and Sportsmanship will be recognised at the end of the event.

Regional Qualifying

Team Selection

• The selection of teams is the responsibility of each participating region.
• The selection criteria to select Regional teams is at the discretion of each region
• In the case that a particular region is unable to fill all positions, they must officially deem that position as vacant.
