The Tennis Queensland Secondary School Team Tennis Competition is a state-wide initiative inviting all Secondary Schools to play competitive tennis at a regional level and culminate at a State Final annually.

Winning teams of the Open QSSTT Competition have be invited to represent Queensland at the Gallipoli Youth Cup – Australia’s National High School Championships.

HOW TO ENTER?

Entries will close 10 days prior to each respective Regional Final.

TEAMS

Each team must consist of four to five players.
Teams must be made up of solely boys or girls, not a mixture.
All players must be an enrolled student of the school they are representing and cannot participate in the Tennis Queensland Primary School Cup in the same year.

COST

Teams must pay a fee of $80 (incl. GST) per team to participate in all QSSTT Events.  Schools will be invoiced prior to the competition.

ABOUT

All matches are played using FAST4 format. Each team is guaranteed to play at least 3 matches on the day. Teams play four singles and two doubles rubbers where possible.

For more information on rules and player eligibility please refer to the 2024 QSSTT Guidelines above.

All teams must play in school uniforms, with hats being compulsory for participation. Each school also needs to submit a team name that they will use for the duration of the event.

STATE FINAL SELECTION       

The winning boys and girls team at each Regional Final of the event will be invited to compete at the State Final.

FORMAT

Rubbers for the Regional Final will be played as a FAST4 set:

  • first to 4 games
  • tie-breaker at 3 games all
  • no ad-scoring
  • play lets (lets are play on!)
STATE FINAL                  

The Open QSSTT State Final will be held the 8th and 9th of July at Queensland Tennis Centre, Brisbane.
The Yrs 7-9 QSSTT State Final will be held the 12th and 13th September at Rockhampton Tennis Centre, Rockhampton.

Players must be available for all days of competition, however, a reserve may be called in the case of injury/withdrawal if needed.

 

 

 

TennisID & UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) Information

All participants of the QSSTT Competition must have a TennisID number in order to compete (66XXXXXXXXXX).
Please ensure that this information is supplied when registering your team.
Following the close of entries, Tennis Queensland will contact each team manager confirming any players that do not have an activated Tennis ID account and we ask you to please follow this up prior to the competition date.

The QSSTT Competition will be included in a player’s UTR providing they and their opponent have an active UTR profile.
