The youth leadership program, for girls aged 14 to 18, builds confidence and practical skills through online sessions and in-person workshops.
Tennis Australia Women and Girls Lead (Queensland) Toni Cooke said the program aimed to help build the next generation of women leaders in tennis.
“Our participants learn both life and leadership skills and benefit from access to a community of like-minded young people,” she said.
“Adolescent girls are at risk of leaving our sport, so this program provides an avenue through which our youth can help encourage engagement within their own communities.”
At the graduation ceremony on 9 May, each participant delivered a short presentation highlighting the various initiatives they had led within their own communities to support the growth of tennis.
The latest cohort join a growing network of 36 Queensland graduates, contributing to the Women and Girls leadership pathway and future workforce.
