WHAT IS THE JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SERIES?

The Junior Development Series (JDS) ACT is a group of tournaments for beginner to intermediate players. They are designed to give players their first experience in playing a series of tournaments throughout the year.

The tournaments are round robin and can offer both singles and doubles events in the 10/U (Orange Ball), 12/U (Green Ball), 12/U (Yellow Ball), and 18/U (Yellow Ball) age groups.

2026 Orange Ball Participation Points Race

To help build the depth in the Orange Ball pathway, we are introducing a participation points race in 2026, that encourages consistent involvement in both JDS events and Orange Ball CTL Leagues. This builds on the existing JDS Champion of Champions event, where participation already plays a key role in player eligibility.

Top 8 players (based on JDS + Orange Ball CTL participation) will be invited to the ACT Champion of Champions

Point allocation as follows:

• Participation in the orange ball events across the 9 JDS events – 10 Points
• 2026 Autumn/Spring Junior Canberra Tennis League Orange Ball League – 10 points

Points go towards competition for Champion of Champions.

JDS Champion of Champions – Invitational Event
The 2026 ACT Champion of Champions will be held at the Canberra Tennis Centre on 28 November.
Players will be invited to ACT Champion of Champions if they

1. Winner of a pool of a JDS tournament and
2. Have played a minimum of 3 tournaments; OR
3. The top 8 orange ball players based on participation points

Please Note: Players can enter the Champion of Champions Age Division that they are eligible for as at 1 November 2026, regardless of which Age Division they qualified in.
