Sports Diploma Hub FAQ’s

What career pathways does the program open up?

Students will obtain a high-level understanding of the tennis industry, gaining valuable experience in a wide range of areas from membership, major events, media, coaching, community engagement and much more across both Tennis Queensland and the wider tennis industry.

Outside of Tennis Queensland, potential career pathways from completing the course include (either in a sports club or other businesses):

  • Sports Coordinator
  • Community Development Officer
  • Sport Project Coordinator
  • Sport Development Manager
  • Junior Performance Coach

What qualifications are available for me to study?

There are three Diploma options available to participants to study with TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) alongside Tennis Queensland (conditional on enrollment dates and availability):

  • Diploma of Sport (SIS50321)
  • Diploma of Event Management (SIT50322)
  • Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420)

Is there an opportunity to pursue further study post completion of the qualifications?

By completing the chosen Diploma qualification as part of the Tennis Queensland and TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) partnership, students will have access to a nationally-recognised suite of diploma-to-degree pathways.

Graduates can fast-track their studies with up to one year of credit towards degrees at Australia’s top universities, including Bond University. Pathways include the Bachelor of Sport Development, Bachelor of Sport Management, and Bachelor of Business (Sport Management).

Choosing a diploma-degree pathway means that graduates are academically well prepared for bachelor study and have the work skills and experience to start their dream career in a shorter time frame.

What activities outside of the curriculum will I be participating in as part of the program?

  • 70 hours of work-based placement within Tennis Queensland
