Junior Development Series

The Junior Development Series (JDS) SA is a series of tournaments designed to support beginner and intermediate players as they enter competitive tennis.  

Offering a series of competitions throughout the year, JDS provides the perfect transition from Coloured Ball Competitions and a strong foundation for future development.

• Age divisions: 9/u (Orange Ball), 10/u (Green Ball), 12/u and open age groups  
• Round robin matches  
• Singles and doubles formats  
• Modified scoring may apply depending on event level  
• Events generally run for one day. 

The JDS is an important part of SA’s competitions pathway. It bridges the gap between Coloured Ball Competitions and performance-level tournaments such as the De Minaur Junior Tour and the 16/u Australian Junior Tour.   

Players gain match-play experience, improve their Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) and  strengthen the competitive mindset needed for long-term success.

• Entry is open to players aged 10–16 years old 
• Make sure you complete your Competitive Player Profile (CPP) and activate your UTR prior to registering 
• You can register for the JDS event you’re interested in via the Competitive Play Calendar
