Code of Behaviour
The new Code of behaviour replaces the ‘Events Disciplinary Policy’ that regulates behaviour breaches related to and during tournaments and weekly competitions in Australia. We are committed to protecting the integrity of tennis and ensuring we provide a healthy and positive environment for players to compete in. Improving the behaviour of players and spectators at tournaments and competitions is a major element of this.
Disciplinary Policy
This Policy applies to conduct and behaviour which is not otherwise captured by TA’s Code of Behaviour, Member Protection Policy or Anti-Doping Policy.
Safeguarding Children Guidelines
Tennis Australia (TA) and all Australian Tennis Organisations (ATOs) aim to provide children with a positive tennis experience and environment that promotes their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.
We expect you to adhere to the highest possible standards with respect to safeguarding children from abuse.
TA has developed these guidelines to identify and prevent behaviour which might be harmful to the children in our care.
Transgender Inclusion Guidelines for Community Tennis
Tennis Australia (TA) and TA’s Member Associations (MAs) are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive sporting environment for everyone regardless of their differences. We are proud to promote equitable opportunities in tennis to ensure all people in Australia, including people who identify as Transgender, Gender Diverse or Non-Binary, can participate in tennis without fear of stigmatisation or discrimination.
Extreme Weather Policy
The policy is designed to protect competitive tennis players from injury and illness that may result by playing tennis in extreme weather conditions.
Social Media Policy
Tennis Australia encourages the use of social media and recognises and appreciates its value as a tool for the Australian tennis community to engage, communicate, learn, share and drive innovation. As social media is shared in the public realm, it is vital that the valuable public reputation of TA, Australian Tennis Organisations (ATO’s), sponsors and other TA stakeholders is protected.
Harassment-Free Sport
Every participant in sport, regardless of the role, has a right to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness, and to participate in an environment that is enjoyable and safe. Harassment, abuse and other forms of inappropriate behaviour in sport deny participants these rights.
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has developed a harassment free sport strategy to assist the sports industry address discrimination, abuse and other inappropriate behaviours by helping sports to create safe, respectful and harassment-free sport environments.
