The Australian Teams Championships is one of the premier junior events on the national tennis calendar. Each June, more than 180 emerging athletes from every state and territory – along with teams from New Zealand and Pacific Oceania – come together to compete in the 11/u, 13/u, and 15/u competitions.

With a proud history spanning more than 40 years, the Championships have long been a proven pathway for players who go on to succeed at the professional level. It’s a place where young players rise together.

Held over five weeks during the winter months, this competition brings together the most talented metro-based 11/u players, for a chance to improve their skills and challenge themselves against other top players in their age group.

For aspiring athletes, the Green Ball State League (Winter) creates a path toward more advanced competitions within the state’s Performance Pathway.

Eligibility criteria

Age groups are determined by the player’s age on 31 December of the competition year. For example, if your child turns 12 in November, they are still eligible to compete in the 11/u age group for that year.

Students must be enrolled at an affiliated school to nominate for selection.

How to nominate for trials and selection:

  • A $10 non‑refundable trial fee per student (including GST) is required when submitting your online nomination.
  • After your nomination has been processed, your child’s school will be notified and you’ll receive a confirmation email.
  • Participation is subject to school approval, with considerations including behaviour, attendance and other school‑based factors.

Nomination form details and the closing date will be shared soon.

Participants will be involved in drills and competitive scenarios to select the team based on:
