The City of Playford Tennis International lights up the courts by bringing together rising stars from the W75 ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour and the CH75 ATP Challenger Tour.


About City of Playford Tennis International

The City of Playford Tennis International is part of the Australian Pro Tour where rising tennis stars go head-to-head to win ATP, ITF and WTA ranking points, as well as a total prize pool of more than AUD $240,000.

The tournament has attracted some of the biggest names in the sport such as Rinky Hijikata, Maddison Inglis, Elena Rybakina and Bianca Andreescu.

“With it being the final opportunity for players to earn points in the Australian Open Wildcard Race, we expect a very strong and competitive field here in Playford. It’s the perfect way to launch into Australia’s biggest tennis season.” – Dylan Hicks, Tennis SA Head of Competitive Play.

The 2026 edition will run from Saturday 21 November to Sunday 29 November.

ATP Challenger event

ATP‑ranked players can secure their spot by registering through the ATP Player Zone website. Players who are not ATP ranked can only participate if they receive a wildcard.  

ITF Women's World Tennis Tour event

Eligible players can register for the event via the ITF IPIN website.

How the acceptance lists work

Once the entry deadline closes, the accepted player list is announced. Players are ordered based on specific criteria – first by ATP or WTA world rankings, then by ITF rankings, followed by players with a verified World Tennis Number, players holding a national top‑500 ranking, and finally all remaining entrants.

The Australian Pro Tour is the proving ground for the next generation of aspiring professional tennis players, with more than 40 tournaments across Australia from August 2025 to April 2026 at a range of ITF World Tennis Tour and ATP Challenger levels. 

With more than US$1.4 million on offer players can accumulate prize money and gain crucial opportunities to earn ATP and WTA world ranking points in their bid to break into the ATP and WTA tours.
