SA Super 10s
Where South Australia’s most talented under‑10 players come together to grow, shine and build a lifelong passion for tennis.
About Super 10s
Part of the SA Performance Pathway, the Super 10s is a competition for South Australia’s most promising tennis players aged 10 and under. This development program brings talented young players together to enjoy competitive match play in a fun, supportive team environment. Players receive on‑court guidance, tactical advice and encouragement from our experienced Super 10s coaches.
Super 10s is designed for advanced 10‑and‑under players who are already showing strong commitment to tennis, including regular coaching and participation in competitions.
Athletes selected for the Super 10s program often use it as a stepping stone into the 11&U Zone Squads and Tennis Australia’s National Development Squads, which bring together the top boys and girls aged 11 and over.

The event is not UTR‑sanctioned and players will receive on‑court support and guidance from our Super 10s coaches throughout their matches.
Eligibility criteria
Super 10s is designed for competitive boys and girls aged 10 and under who are already committed to their tennis and regularly playing in competitions. To be eligible, children must be 10 years old or younger as of 31 December of that year.
This program is not suitable for beginners or for children under eight years old, as it is designed for players who already have strong skills, experience and dedication to the sport.
Key competencies (with green ball)
- Able to consistently serve overhead from the baseline. Continental grip desirable.
- Experience in playing local competitions and tournaments in green ball.
- Rally crosscourt for 10–15 shots with spin. Use acceptable grips for forehand and backhands.
- Able to play a competitive tennis match, know where to stand in singles and doubles, and familiar with the rules and scoring system.
- Able to move efficiently to sustain a rally on a full-size court.
- Display independence; pack their own bag for matches and practice, warm-up routine and able to play a match.
Selection process
To take part in Super 10s, players first need to register for the Challenge Day.
Each participant will be invited to a two‑hour session where they’ll play matches against other players in their age group. During this session, our Super 10s coaches will observe their skills, competitiveness and readiness for the program.
After the Challenge Day, up to 16 boys and 16 girls will be selected to join the Super 10s season.
The selection will be made based on:
- Meeting all eligibility requirements
- Recent results in green‑ or yellow‑ball tournaments and competitions
- Demonstrated skill competencies
- Overall competitiveness and performance during Challenge Day
- Attitude and behaviour, including effort, focus and sportsmanship
Note for parents: We recognise that occasional absences are sometimes unavoidable due to illness, family commitments or other important reasons. However, once selected, we ask that players make every effort to attend each session and stay committed for the duration of the season. This ensures fairness for all players and helps maintain team consistency and development throughout the program.
Program cost
The total program fee is $300 for the full season (10 rounds over five days). There is also a $15 fee to participate in the Challenge Day.
