Serving our community

Tennis SA is dedicated to serving the community by advancing the sport and enabling people of all abilities to enjoy life through tennis.

Ken McGregor Fund

A nine-time major title winner and South Australian native, Ken McGregor made an immense contribution to the sport.

His legacy continues with the fund in his name, which supports the next generation of athletes and players with a disability.

Reconciliation Action Plan

Tennis SA acknowledges the deep connection the Kaurna people have to country and we respect and value their past, present and ongoing connection to the land and cultural beliefs.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan outlines our aim to make sure tennis is accessible to all, to increase the number of opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across all areas of the sport, to educate clubs and coaches, and to enhance talent identification and performance pathways.

Tennis in state schools

Tennis SA works closely with schools to ensure as many students as possible can be involved in tennis. We have a strong relationship with School Sport South Australia to promote junior tennis programs across the state and advance development pathways for young people.

We’re proud to support a wide range of school tennis events, including the Sapsasa state carnival, the statewide schools competitions and the individual championships for years 7-12.

Inclusive tennis programs

At Tennis SA we are steadfast in our commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive tennis culture across South Australia.

Our tennis programs include: wheelchair, multicultural, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, blind and low vision, intellectual disability or autism, and deaf and hard of hearing.

These initiatives ensure our sport is welcoming for all levels and abilities, while also strengthening competitive development pathways.

Club development and support

The Places to Play team ensures the South Australian community can access a wide range of tennis venues and services.

Over 300 venues in Adelaide and across the state play host to tennis, all offering a variety of facilities and services.

The team works with the governments, affiliated bodies and other key stakeholders to focus on:

  • Improving the quality of existing facilities

  • Enhancing partnerships

  • Ensuring an appropriate spread of quality venues across the state

  • Planning and developing new facilities in major growth areas, schools and community spaces.

We encourage clubs, councils, associations and schools to contact the club development team to discuss facility projects.
