Southern Districts Tennis Association - Juniors (Winter)
This inter-club competition is designed for junior and orange ball players – helping local players improve their skills while fostering a lifelong love for the game.
About the competition
The Southern Districts Tennis Association offers exciting, team‑based competitions for junior and orange ball players, giving young athletes the chance to enjoy match play in a fun, supportive and motivating environment. Designed especially for local players, these competitions provide opportunities to build confidence and technical skills, while also encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
For players interested in moving up the competitions ladder, these competitions also prepare players to progress through the state's Performance Pathway.
Eligibility criteria
- Clubs associated with Tennis SA and Southern Districts Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition
- All nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and connected their UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) or CBR (Coloured Ball Rating)
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.
Match formats
Junior competition:
- Each team is made up of between four and five players
- All players will play two doubles and four singles matches each week
- Doubles matches are played as a six-game set with a standard 12-point tiebreak at six games all
- Singles matches are played as a nine-game set with a standard 12-point tiebreak at eight games all
Orange ball competition:
- Each team is made up of three players
- All players will play one singles match and two doubles matches per week
- The sets are played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring
