Junior and orange ball inter-club competitions, designed to help local kids grow their love for tennis while sharpening their skills.
About North East Tennis Association – Juniors (Winter)
Held throughout the winter months, this junior league offers both junior and orange ball competitions, giving young players affiliated with the North East Tennis Association the chance to improve their match-play skills, build confidence and become part of a vibrant tennis community.
For players interested in continuing their competitive play journey, it helps them progress along the SA Performance Pathway.
Eligibility criteria
- Tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA and North East Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition
- All nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and connected their UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) or CBR (Coloured Ball Rating)
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $64 per team junior competition and $30 per team for orange ball competition. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.

Match formats
Junior competition
- Each team can have up to six players consisting of all boys or girls.
- The sets are played as a straight-six-game set with tiebreak at 5–5 (first to seven, win by two).
Orange ball competition
- Each team can have between three and five players and be either single‑gender or mixed‑gender.
- All players will play one singles match and two doubles matches per week.
- The sets are played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
