An action-packed qualifying day has taken place, with 26 qualifying matches completed on Day 1 at the City of Playford Tennis International.
In the men’s draw, Australians Pavle Marinkov, Hayden Jones and Finn Bass all moved through to the second round of qualifying. They are joined by Japan’s representatives Tung-Lin Wu, Takuya Kumasaka, Masamichi Imamura, Leo Vithoontien, Taiyo Yamanaka, Ryuki Matasuda and Taisei Ichikawa, along with Blaise Bickell (JAM) and Carl Emil Overbeck (DEN).
In the women’s draw, Aussies Sarah Rokusek, Belle Thompson, Laquisa Khan, Cara Korhonen, Ava-Monet Sycamore and Alexandra Osborne all progressed to the next round. International winners included Elena Jamshidi (DEN), Japan’s rising talents Nagi Hanatani and Himari Sato, plus Chengyiyi Yuan (CHN), Arina Varaksina, Gauel Jang (KOR), Valentina Ivanov (NZL) and Ya Yi Yang (TPE) also advancing.Day 2 is set to deliver an action-packed schedule, featuring the final round of qualifying across both draws, as well as the opening round of the men’s main draw.
