Tennis SA are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Vicki Young, at the age of 60.

Although a relatively new member of Tennis Seniors SA, Vicki quickly became a much-loved part of the community. She first joined in the summer of 2023, entering a team in the Monday night mixed competition. When her teammates chose not to continue the following winter, Vicki and her close friend, Nat Johncock, joined the Thunderbirds team — a move that would see her form many close friendships and become a familiar, smiling face within the competition.

Known for her cheerful personality and vibrant presence both on and off the court, Vicki brought joy and energy to every match she played. Those who had the pleasure of competing alongside her will fondly remember her bright smile, competitive spirit, and her trademark slice forehands and backhands that made her such a tough opponent.

Vicki’s warmth, sportsmanship, and love of the game left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Tennis SA extends its deepest condolences to Vicki’s family, friends, and teammates. She will be dearly missed by the entire tennis community.
