Peake Gardens Riverside Tennis Club claimed their third consecutive men’s State League title with Memorial Drive Tennis Club claiming their first in the women’s at the Tennis SA State League grand finals took place at The Drive last weekend.
Riverside dominated in singles, with key wins taking three of four singles rubbers. In doubles, an incomplete first match ended in a draw. While in the second Riverside’s pair edged out Trinity Titans 6-3, 5-7, 6-10
While in the women’s field Memorial Drive showed their strength early, winning all four singles rubbers with dominant performances. Seacliff fought back in the third and fourth singles matches, but Memorial Drive sealed the win with commanding doubles performances.
Tennis SA Head of Tournaments and Competitions, Dylan Hicks, expressed his excitement in congratulating the winning teams.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate our 2024-25 Tennis SA State League champions, Peake Gardens Riverside and The Drive,” Hicks said.
“Peake Gardens Riverside’s thrilling victory marks their third consecutive State League title, edging out Trinity Gardens in a nail-biting final. The energy from the crowd was electric, pushing the players to new heights. Meanwhile, The Drive’s triumph was a story of resilience—after falling short in the Grand Final for the past two seasons, they defied the odds, charging from third place on the ladder to claim the title.
