Applications are now open to join the Youth, Disability or LGBTIQA+ Minister’s Advisory Council.
The Department of Human Services is seeking expressions of interest from South Australians to join the Youth, Disability or LGBTIQA+ Minister’s Advisory Councils.
The Minister’s Advisory Councils were established in 2022 as part of the Government’s commitment to give the Youth, Disability and LGBTIQA+ community members a direct voice to government.
This is a valuable opportunity to share your lived experience and have your say.
Eligibility criteria:
- Youth Advisory Council: Open to South Australian residents aged 15 to 25.
- Disability Advisory Council: Open to South Australian residents aged 15 and over with disability, care for someone with disability, or have relevant lived experience.
- LGBTIQA+ Advisory Council: open to all LGBTIQA+ South Australian residents aged 15 and over.
The Minister’s Advisory Councils meet four times a year with the Minister for Human Services, the Hon. Nat Cook MP, to provide strategic advice on current issues, legislation and policies to the government.
Members are appointed for a two-year term from February 2025 to January 2027.
