A host of community engagement activities have been announced to run alongside the Tennis SA State League All Stars when the event visits Lucindale later this month.

Tennis SA, in conjunction with the Naracoorte Lucindale Council and Lucindale Country Club, will host the event on Saturday 25 November 2023.

For the first time, locals will join the red and blue teams, with tennis (and golf) matches counting towards an overall community event winner at the end of the day.

On Friday, the All Stars will be welcomed to town by students from Lucindale Area School before jumping on court together for a Hot Shots Tennis carnival.

Saturday will begin with Southern Ports Tennis Association junior competition matches from 9:00 am, where the All Stars will each join a team as an on-court coach/mentor providing valuable support and advice throughout the morning.

Tennis SA State League All Stars matches will commence at 11:30 am, with Southern Ports Tennis Association senior competition matches to hit the court alongside the All Stars from 1:00 pm. The local golf competition will also get in on the action, joining the red and blue teams, with points from their competition going towards the overall tally.

The All Stars Kids Zone will be in action throughout the day with Hot Shots Tennis, tennis inflatable, activities and giveaways all on offer.

Ballkids are set to join the All Stars on court for the first time in 2023. Local children participated in come and try sessions in September with the final squad of 18 now selected. Following the event, one girl and one boy will be chosen to be a part of the Adelaide International Ballkid Squad in 2024.

In the lead up to the event, a colouring in competition will be opened to students from local schools, with children encouraged to enter in one of three age groups to go into the running to win a tennis prize pack.

“The Tennis SA State League All Stars is going to be a wonderful spectacle with such a wide variety of activities on offer,” Naracoorte Lucindale Council CEO Trevor Smart said.

“This event is shaping up to be a fantastic opportunity for our local community to not only watch the highest level of tennis competition in the state, but to also get involved in the action.

“We can’t wait to welcome the team to our region later this month.”
