Day 3 matches are complete at the City of Playford Tennis International.

Top seed Thanasi Kokkinakis (SA) defeated qualifier Yusuke Takahashi (JPN) in just under two-and-a-half hours, 6-7(7) 6-3 6-2.

Third seed Astra Sharma (WA) moved through to the second round with a win over Kyoka Okamura (JPN) 6-4 7-6(6), while 15-year-old Emerson Jones (Qld), who is the current junior world No.10, took her winning streak to 15 matches with a win over Gabriella Da Silva Fick (NSW) 6-4 6-0.

Day 4 will see 2022 champions, Kimberly Birrell (Qld) and Rinky Hijikata (NSW), begin their title defences. Birrell will play Elysia Bolton (NSW) in the first match on Court 8, while Hijikata will open proceedings on Centre Court against qualifier JiSung Nam (KOR). South Australia’s Petra Hule will also take to the court for the first time in doubles alongside Taylah Preston (WA).

Matches will commence at 10:00 am.
