Day 5 has come to an end at the City of Playford Tennis International and all scheduled matches have been completed!

Top seed Jordan Thompson defeated Tristan Schoolkate (WA) 6-3 7-5, while defending champion James Duckworth had a relatively straightforward win over Marek Gengel (CZE) 6-1 6-2.

On the women’s side, top seed Priscilla Hon (Qld) defeated Natsuho Arakawa (JPN) 6-3 6-3, second seed Jaimee Fourlis (Vic) overcame Priska Nugroho (INA) 7-6(4) 6-1 and third seed Maddison Inglis (WA) took the win over Naiktha Bains (GBR) 6-4 6-4.

Unfortunately, today saw South Australians Petra Hule (Pennington, SA) and Luke Saville (Cobdogla, SA) exit the singles draws. Hule was defeated by Olivia Gadecki (Qld) 7-6(4) 6-2, with Saville defeated by sixth seed Rio Noguchi (JPN) 6-7(7) 6-4 7-5 after almost three hours on court.

Matches will commence at 11:00 am on Friday, with singles quarterfinals and doubles semifinals.

A twilight session will be held tomorrow night, with two doubles semifinals to hit Centre Court from 4:30 pm. Entry is free to the public with a Kids Zone open, featuring mini tennis courts, come and try tennis, face painting, balloon twisting and native animals, as well as a range of other activities on offer.
