Day 4 has come to an end at the City of Playford Tennis International with play once again suspended due to rain.

Earlier in the day, South Australia’s Petra Hule (Pennington, SA) defeated Jasmin Jebawy (GER) in straight sets 6-1 6-4, while Luke Saville (Cobdogla, SA) overcame Kyle Seelig (USA) 2-6 6-4 6-2. Unfortunately, fourth seed Li Tu (Royston Park, SA) was defeated by Rubin Statham (NZL) 6-4 6-4.

Play resumed in the match between top seed Jordan Thompson (NSW) and James McCabe (NSW), with Thompson moving through to the second round with a 3-6 6-3 6-4 win. Third seed Maddison Inglis (WA) has also progressed with a 6-0 3-6 6-3 win over Lisa Mays (NSW).

Matches will commence at 10:00 am on Thursday.

Defending champion and second seed James Duckworth (NSW) will open Centre Court against Marek Gengel (CZE), with Thompson to follow against Tristan Schoolkate (WA). Women’s top seed Priscilla Hon (Qld) will play the third match on Court 9 against Natsuho Arakawa (JPN).

Saville will play sixth seed Rio Noguchi (JPN) in the second match on Court 2 and Hule will take on fifth seed Olivia Gadecki (Qld) in the second match on Court 8.
