Unfortunately Day 3 has started and ended with rain at the City of Playford Tennis International.

Main draw matches did, however, get underway in the afternoon with City of Playford Tennis International 2019 champion James Duckworth (NSW) moving through to the second round with a 7-5 6-1 victory over Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND).

South Australian wildcards Alex Bolt and Edward Winter fought hard, but unfortunately lost their respective first round matches in three sets.

The match between top seed Jordan Thompson (NSW) and James McCabe (NSW) has been suspended at one set a piece, with Thompson ahead 4-2 in the third set.

In the women’s, top seed Priscilla Hon (Qld) defeated Junri Namigata (JPN) 6-1 7-6(2) and second seed Jaimee Fourlis (Vic) overcame Alana Parnaby (Vic) 6-2 6-3.

Matches will commence at 10:00 am on Wednesday.

Three South Australians will be in action on Day 4, with qualifier Petra Hule (SA) to take on Jasmin Jebawy (GER) in the second match on Court 7. Li Tu (SA) will take on Rubin Statham (NZL) in the second match on Centre Court and Luke Saville (SA) will play Kyle Seelig (USA) in the second match on Court 3.
