The Direction for Activities has been updated and will come in to effect at 12:01 am tomorrow, Friday 15 April. The following table is taken directly from page 4 of the Emergency Management (Activities-Associated Direction No 23) (COVID-19) Direction 2022 and summarises the restrictions imposed by this direction:

  • CMP: events of more than 1 000 people
  • Masks for disability care facilities
  • Masks for prisons, correctional facilities, training centres, other places of custody
  • Masks for public and private hospitals
  • Masks for health care services and pathology collection centres
  • Masks for pharmacies
  • Masks for passenger transport services
  • Approved contact tracing system for disability care facilities, public and private hospitals

Key things to note:


    • Masks are NOT required in shared indoor public spaces, including in licensed venues, restaurants, retail outlets, shopping centres and personal care services.

    • Checking-in to businesses and venues using QR codes is no longer a requirement, except in the following:

      • public and private hospitals;

      • disability care facilities; and

      • residential aged care facilities.



      • COVID Marshals will only be required at COVID Management Plan Events. They will not be required at any other prescribed activities.

      • Other existing requirements remain.
