Classroom Contacts

The advice from the Chief Public Health Officer is that it is good practice for Classroom Contacts to do the following for 14 days to minimise risk to others, when outside of the school, preschool or early childhood education and care setting:

  • avoiding high risk settings or COVID Management Plan events
  • wearing a surgical mask around others (where age appropriate) and outside your home
  • avoid working across worksites unless an approved risk management plan is in place (eg rapid antigen testing)
  • avoiding contact with vulnerable people outside of your workplace or family, where possible
  • avoiding non-essential activities where possible (eg where there are lots people, inside, in close contact)
  • avoiding shared spaces and maintain physical distance.

If a player and/or parent/caregiver has been advised that they are a Classroom Contact, is the responsibility of the player and/or parent/caregiver to make an assessment of the classroom/exposure situation they have been in and decide whether or not they should attend the activity. A player and/or parent/caregiver should not attend an activity if they are displaying any symptoms or are feeling unwell.

We understand that this will affect everyone in different ways, some more than others, however it is important that we continue to act in the best interests of those around us.

Venue preparation/Community Tennis Guidelines

At this stage, community sport and activities are able to proceed with very few restrictions, but as we near the two year mark since COVID entered our lives, a reminder that we must not become complacent.

Please revisit the requirements of your COVID-Safe plans and ensure that the appropriate COVID-SAfe Check-In processes are in place at your club or venue.
