COVID-19 update for City of Mount Gambier, District Council of Grant and Wattle Range Council LGAs - 4 October 2021

The Direction for Activities for the City of Mount Gambier, District Council of Grant and Wattle Range Council LGAs has been updated and came in to effect at 4:00 pm today, Monday 4 October.

A key detail to note at this stage is that a person must not attend a sporting event or sports or fitness training as a spectator unless the person needs to be present as a caregiver for a participant in the event or training (and only 1 caregiver per participant is permitted).

Summary of Direction for Activities (effective as of 4:00 pm, Monday 4 October)

The following table is taken directly from page 3 of the Emergency Management (Activities-Associated Direction No 14A) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 and summarises the restrictions imposed by this direction:

Level 3: Medium restrictions (with modifications)
  • 1/4 density - 1 person per 4 square metres
  • Gathering at home cap: 2 + usual residents
  • Private activity cap: 10
  • No communal consumption facilities
  • Seated food and beverage consumption only
  • Restrictions on dancing and singing
  • Sports spectator restrictions
  • CMP: events of more than 1 000 people and outdoors only
  • Shisha ban
  • Masks for shared indoor public places (except bridal parties during ceremonies and people receiving health care or personal care services, if necessary for the provision of the personal care service)
  • Masks for indoor fitness facilities (except while exercising)
  • Masks for high risk settings
  • Masks for personal care services
  • Masks for health care services
  • Masks for passenger transport services
