Sporting clubs are trusted voices in their communities and are an ideal vehicle to drive the message about mental health awareness and the need for research to help tackle mental illness head on.

With one in five Australians diagnosed with a mental health issue and more people aged between 15-44 years dying from suicide than any other cause – it is imperative we support ground-breaking research to better understand what causes mental illness, how to treat it, and how to prevent it from happening.

Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – and that includes sporting communities. Players, teammates, coaches, support staff and volunteers as well as our friends and family on the sidelines.

Your fundraising efforts will fund mental health research as well as mental health first aid programs in sporting clubs throughout South Australia.

ACCREDITED MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING FOR PARTICIPATING CLUBS

For clubs that register and fundraise we will offer mental health first aid training. The course is nationally accredited and is a useful resource for your club. We encourage your club to empower its members to tackle mental health head on, come together to raise funds and participate in vital training to support the wellbeing of your club.

It’s never been a more important time to support the mental health of our community.
