Eastern Districts Tennis Association – Juniors (Winter)
This winter league consists of Orange, Green and Yellow Ball Competitions – providing local junior players with an opportunity to improve their skills and connect with players from other clubs.
About the competition
Running over the winter months, this junior inter-club competition provides young players affiliated with Eastern Districts Tennis Association a competitive play opportunity using orange, green or yellow balls depending on where they are in their tennis journey.
It helps them improve their skills, encourages camaraderie among teammates and creates a meaningful pathway toward higher-level tennis for those interested in continuing their journey.
Eligibility criteria
Tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA and Eastern Districts Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition
All nominated players must have set up their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and CBR (Coloured Ball Rating)
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $80 (plus GST) per team for green and yellow ball competitions, and $55 (plus GST) per team for orange ball competition. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.
Match formats
Orange Ball Competition:
All participating teams must have between two and four players.
Both singles and doubles matches are played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
Green Ball Competition:
All participating teams must have between one and four players.
Teams begin with singles matches, followed by doubles and reverse singles.
Yellow Ball Competition:
All participating teams must have between one and four players.
Both doubles and singles matches are played as one six‑game set. When the score reaches five games all, a tiebreak is played. The first team to reach seven points wins, provided they lead by two points.

Yellow Ball Premier League:
All participating teams must have between two and three players.
Teams begin with a doubles match, followed by two singles matches.
The doubles match consists of one six‑game set. When the score reaches fie games all, a tiebreak is played. The first team to reach seven points wins, provided they lead by two points.
The singles matches consist of one nine‑game set. When the score reaches eight games all, a tiebreak is played. The first team to reach seven points wins, provided they lead by two points.

- BYE Rounds:
- 5–6 June 2026 (Kings Birthday)
- 3-4 July 2026 (school holidays)
- 10–11 July 2026 (school holidays)
- 17–18 July 2026 (school holidays)
- Last round to be on 28–29 August
- Finals to be run over 2 weekends
- Semifinals: 4–5 September
- Grand final round: 11–12 September
