About Southern Districts Tennis Association league

Southern Districts Tennis Association offers team-based competitions for senior, junior and orange ball players. Designed to give local players a variety of match-play opportunities, it offers a range of great benefits for adult and junior players alike. It enhances your fitness and technical skills, encourages teamwork on and off the court, and fosters meaningful connections with players from other clubs.

Eligibility criteria

  • Clubs associated with Tennis SA and Southern Districts Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition. 
  • All nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and connected their UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) or CBR (Coloured Ball Rating)
  • Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.

Key dates

Senior competition 2025-26 key dates

  • First round: 11 October 2025 
  • Last round before Christmas: 13 December 2025 
  • Season Break: After 13 December 2025, to resume on 31 January 2026 
  • Last round: 14 March 2026 
  • Finals series: The finals are going to be held over two weekends, starting on 21 March 2026, with the grand final taking place on 28 March 2026. 

Junior competition 2026 dates

  • First round: 1-2 May 
  • Byes: 5-6 June, 10-11 July, 17-18 July 
  • Last minor round: 21-22 August 
  • Finals series: The finals are going to be held over two weekends, 28-29 August, 5-6 September

Orange ball competition 2026 key dates

  • First round: 2 May
  • Byes: 5-6 June, 10-11 July, 17-18 July 
  • Final round: 6 September 
  • Matches will be played using a home and away fixture, no finals
  • Matches are played from 10:45am

Match formats

Senior competition

  • Each team is made up of between four and five players 
  • All players will play two doubles and four singles matches each week 
  • A standard tiebreaker is played when the score reaches 6–6 in a six‑game set, or 8–8 in a nine‑game set. 

Junior competition

  • Each team is made up of between four and five players 
  • All players will play two doubles and four singles matches each week 
  • Doubles matches are played as a six-game set with a standard 12-point tiebreak at six games all. 
  • Singles matches are played as a nine-game set with a standard 12-point tiebreak at eight games all. 

Orange ball competition

  • Each team is made up of three players 
  • All players will play one singles match and two doubles matches per week 
  • The sets are played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
