About North East Tennis Association – Juniors

Held over the summer months, this junior league is divided into a junior competition and an orange ball competition. It offers young talents affiliated with the North East Tennis Association a valuable opportunity to enhance their match-play skills while building connections within the broader tennis community. 

For players interested in continuing their competitive play journey, it helps them reach higher-level competitions within the SA Performance Pathway


Eligibility criteria

  • Tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA and North East Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition 
  • All nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and connected their UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) or CBR (Coloured Ball Rating) 
  • Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $64 per team junior competition and $30 per team for orange ball competition. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.

  • First round: Friday 16 or Saturday 17 October 2026
  •  Mid-season Break: 14 December 2026 to 26 January 2027
  • Last minor round:  Friday 26 or Saturday 27 February 2027
  • Semi Final Friday 12 or Saturday 13 March 2027
  • Grand Final Friday 19 or Saturday 20 March 2027
  • Bye Rounds: Adelaide Cup 6 March 2027

Orange ball competition

The orange ball competition is played over six to eight Saturday mornings and split into two seasons in term 4 and term 1.

Match formats

Junior competition

  • Each team can have up to six players consisting of all boys or girls 
  • The sets are played as a straight-six-game set with tiebreak at 5–5 (first to 7, win by 2). 

Orange ball competition

  • Each team can have between three and five players consisting of all boys or girls 
  • All players will play one singles match and two doubles matches per week 
  • The sets are played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
