GDTA Orange Ball Match Play
A fun and exciting match play format using a modified ball, court and equipment – perfect for junior players at the start of their competitive play journey.
About GDTA Orange Ball Association Match Play
Played on a smaller court with simpler rules, this competition is designed to allow junior players affiliated with Glenelg Districts Tennis Associations to enjoy a fun competitive play while improving their skills along the way.
For kids who are keen to continue their tennis journey, this is a great opportunity to challenge themselves so they can move up the competitions ladder.
Eligibility criteria
- Tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA and Glenelg Districts Tennis Association can nominate a team.
- All nominated players must have set up their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and CBR (Coloured Ball Rating).
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager.

2025-26 key dates
Term 4 Dates
- Nominations Open: 13 August
- Nominations Close: 17 September
- Start Date: 18 October
- Final Round: 13 December
Term 1 Dates
- Nominations Open: 22 December
- Nominations Close: 21 January
- Start Date: Saturday 31 January
- Final Round: Saturday 28 March
Match formats
- Each team is made up of three players
- All players are required to play one singles match and two doubles matches each week
- Each round is played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
