About Eastern Districts and North East Tennis Association Combined

This inter-club competition provides great match-play opportunities for players from the two tennis associations to challenge each other, sharpen their skills and connect over their shared love for tennis. 

For players wanting to move up the competitions ladder, tennis association leagues form a path that allows you to reach more advanced competitions within the SA Performance Pathway


Eligibility criteria

  • Clubs associated with Tennis SA, Eastern Districts Tennis Association and North East Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition 
  • All nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and connected their UTR (Universal Tennis Rating)
  • Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $88 (plus GST) per team. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.

Key dates and match formats

2025-26 key dates

  • First round: 11 October 2025 
  • Last round before Christmas: 13 December 2025 
  • Season break: After 13 December 2025, to resume on 31 January 2026 
  • Last round: 28 February 2026 
  • Finals series: The finals are going to be held over three weekends, starting on 14 March 2026, with the grand final taking place on 28 March 2026. 

Match formats

Singles competition

  • All participating teams can have up to eight players 
  • Each fixture includes four singles matches and two doubles matches 
  • The sets are played as a first-to-nine game set with a 12-point tiebreak at eight all. 

Doubles-only competition

  • All participating teams can have up to eight players 
  • Each fixture includes three doubles matches 
  • Rubbers 1 and 2 are played as a first-to-nine game set with a 12-point tiebreak at eight all. Rubbers 3-6 are played as a first-to-six game set with a 12-point tiebreak at six all. 

Malcolm Winneke Trophy

The Malcolm Winneke Trophy was established in honor of the late Malcolm Winneke to reward sportsmanship, court manners, attitude and dress. 

Voting is optional, but teams are encouraged to select their top three opposition players. 

Voting for the Malcolm Winneke Trophy must be submitted by team captains and follows a 3–2–1 format, with team captains awarding three points to the top player, two points to the second and one point to the third. 

All votes must be submitted using the official voting form during Rounds 12, 13, and 14.
