Orange, green and yellow ball inter-club competitions provide our junior players with structured competition and fun.
About Eastern Districts Tennis Association – Juniors
Running over the summer months, this junior league provides young players affiliated with Eastern Districts Tennis Association a competitive play opportunity using orange, green or yellow balls depending on where they are in their tennis journey.
It helps them sharpen their match-play skills, fosters camaraderie among teammates and creates a pathway to higher-level competitions for those keen on continuing their journey.
Eligibility criteria
- Tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA and Eastern Districts Tennis Association can nominate a team for each competition
- All nominated players must have set up their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and CBR (Coloured Ball Rating).
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $77 (plus GST) per team for green and yellow ball competitions, and $45 (plus GST) per team for orange ball competition. Clubs that are accepted will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.

2025-26 key dates
Orange ball competition
- First round: 18 October 2025
- Last round before Christmas: 6 December 2025
- Season break: After 6 December 2025, to resume on 31 January 2026
- Last round: 21 March 2026
Green ball competition
- First round: 18 October 2025
- Last round before Christmas: 6 December 2025
- Season break: After 6 December 2025, to resume on 31 January 2026
- Last round: 21 March 2026
Yellow ball competition
- First round: 17-18 October 2025
- Last round before Christmas: 5-6 December 2025
- Season break: After 6 December 2025, to resume on 30 January 2026
- Last round: 27-28 February 2026
- Finals series: The finals are going to be held over three weekends, starting on 14 March 2026, with the Grand Final taking place on 27-28 February 2026.
Match formats
Orange ball competition
- Each team consists of two to four players
- All players are required to play two singles matches and one doubles match
- Each round is played as a first-to-four game set with no tiebreaker and no AD scoring.
Green ball competition
- All participating teams can have up to six players
- Each match is made up of four singles matches and two doubles matches
- The sets are played as a straight-six-game set with no AD scoring.
Yellow ball competition
- All participating teams can have up to six players
- Each match is made up of four singles matches and two doubles matches
- The sets are played as a straight-six-game set with tiebreak at 5–5 (first to 7, win by 2).
