Metro League
A highly competitive inter-club competition for metro-based tennis associations, creating a pathway to State League.
About Metro League
Over the past few years, this open competition has attracted strong teams from metro-based tennis associations.
Metro League has one simple goal: to offer a competition of a high standard for players with different aspirations. For some, it is the perfect stepping stone to State League. For others, it gives them the chance to compete at a level lower than State League.
Metro League forms part of the state’s Performance Pathway, helping local talents continue their journey toward professional tennis.
Selection criteria
- Metro-based tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis SA can nominate a team.
- To evaluate the playing list and the team’s strength, the players’ UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) and previous performances will be assessed.
- The club’s performance during competitions over the previous two years is also taken into account.
- The nominated players must have completed their CPP (Competitive Player Profile) and activated their UTR.
- Team nominations need to be submitted online via League Manager. The nomination fee is $150 (plus GST) per team. Relevant clubs will receive an invoice once the nominations have been finalised.
