About Country Carnival
The Country Carnival is a grassroots team tennis competition with a long and proud history in South Australia. It brings regional players together from across the state to represent their local associations and compete in an environment that balances competition with fun, camaraderie and sportsmanship. For many years, the Carnival has been a highlight on the tennis calendar, championing both participation and passion for the game.
As South Australia’s showcase event for regional affiliates and their members, the Country Carnival highlights the strength and spirit of country tennis. In 2026, the event celebrates its 100th anniversary, a milestone offering a meaningful reflection of the people, communities and traditions that have shaped the event for a century.
The Country Carnival is held in January at The Drive.
Eligibility criteria
- Regional based associations and clubs can nominate teams and individuals
- The nomination fee is $95 per team

Competition categories and match formats
- Junior team competition: Four singles and two doubles matches played as a six-game set
- Open adults team competition: Four singles matches played as a six-game set and two doubles matches played as a nine-game set
- Mixed team competition: Six doubles matches played as a six-game set
- Men’s doubles competition: Six doubles matches played as a six-game set
- Women’s doubles competition: Six doubles matches played as a six-game set
