Sydney Badge is the oldest tennis competition in the Sydney Metro area and has multiple grades on offer. The competition caters to 1200 + players of all ages, levels, and abilities.

Games are played home and away at Tennis NSW member clubs and venues across the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area.

Initially, only the 17 metropolitan associations participated in the competition, over the years the competition has been expanded to include nearby regional associations as well as some clubs and schools.

The Sydney Badge finals which were held on Saturday 10 September at Zone Tennis,Naremburn. Some exciting matches were played in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.

This week we turn to the Interdistrict finals, commencing this Saturday 17 September.

Interdistrict is one of the oldest tennis competitions in Australia, with the first competition between the Metropolitan District Tennis Associations played in 1921.

Over the years many household names have represented their Associations in this competition, including John Bromwich, Dinny Pails, Adrian Quist, Lew Hoad, Ken Rosewall, Bill Bowrey, Kim Warwick, John Alexander, Phil Dent, Jan Lehane, Beryl Penrose, Evonne Goolagong, Diane Fromholtz and Lesley Turner – just to name a few.
