Super 10s

Super 10s is a national program that brings together promising young tennis players aged 10 and under. Held in all major Australian cities, it provides a nurturing, environment where players can compete, learn and build friendships with other standout players in their state.

In 2026, Super 10s is evolving to further strengthen its role as a foundational step in Tennis Australia’s player development pathway. The program will continue to prioritise high-quality experiences that support skill and character development, encourage teamwork among players and families, and create a positive, engaging environment for both players and parents.

The Super 10s experience should include competitive play, training, and aspirational opportunities.

Note: the private coach should be instrumental in designing a player’s training program and tournament schedule and will advise as what components best suit a player’s particular age or stage of development.

Competitive Play

Tournaments, competitions, and other events organised by your coach, club, and Tennis NSW, are very important for the development of a young tennis player. Your private coach will be able to best advise you on the level of competition, and the number of matches you should be playing.

It is important to maintain the appropriate match volume, even when you are starting your tennis journey in the Green Ball space. Please see the Player Development Matrix for more.

Most Green Ball competitive play opportunities are through JDS, RMS events, and Interdistrict and Interassociation competition, conducted by Tennis NSW. These events are run in the regions and metropolitan areas.

There are also Green Ball competitive play opportunities as part of some J125 events.

Weekly Green Ball competition is available in most clubs and is helpful in maintaining your match volume.

Training Opportunities

The Super 10s Training Squad is designed to provide young players with additional training volume. It is conducted at Tennis World, Sydney Olympic Park. The Super 10s Squad is a “value-add” program and may or may not be suitable for some players.

Selections are based on:

  • Tennis Australia Coloured-ball rating.
  • Results in Green Ball Competitive Play.
  • Recommendations from leading coaches.
  • High performing players (2016 birthyear) from the 2025 Super 10s program.
  • Super 10s Advantage Program

In NSW, high performing players will be given the opportunity to undertake some additional training, in the National Development Squad (NDS) environment.

This additional training opportunity will provide the player with an insight into the Tennis Australia training environment.

Players will receive a player assessment, evaluation their technical, tactical, physical, and emotional development compared to the best players from around the country.

Super 10s State Camps

In 2026 the state-based Super 10s program will move from a competition program to a state camp format. Please note the following:

  • There will be one NSW Super 10s Camp conducted per term.
  • Each camp will be 2 x half-day events.
  • Although camps will be conducted in the metropolitan area, the format will allow regional athletes to attend and minimise the financial outlay.
  • Selections for the Term 1 NSW Super 10s Camp will be made based on:
    • Tennis Australia Coloured Ball Rating (CBR)
    • Results from Tennis NSW JDS events (note events below).
    • Recommendations from leading coaches.
    • High performing players from the 2025 Super 10s season.
  • Note that reselection for the state camps will occur each term.
  • Players must continue to demonstrate an improvement in technical and physical competencies, to maintain elections.
  • Players demonstrating the Tennis Australia values of coachable, committed, and competitive.

Representative Opportunities

Tennis NSW and Tennis Australia provide representative opportunities for Green Ball/10-and-unders players.

Tennis NSW conduct a state teams carnival where regional and metropolitan teams are selected and compete over a two-day period.

Tennis Australia conducts Super 10s State of Origin fixtures, where NSW players compete against ACT, SA, Queensland, and Victoria.

Players can qualify for the Tennis Australia Green Ball Nationals, based on performances in Green Ball JDS and RMS events. Tennis NSW conducts a state qualifying event just prior to the Green Ball Nationals in September.

High performing players throughout the year will gain selection for Super 10s National Camp, that will be conducted at the Australian Open in January 2027.
