Dear Tennis NSW Members,

We are writing to inform you that Darren Simpson has concluded his employment with Tennis NSW, effective 15 January 2026. 

We thank Darren for his contribution to our tennis community and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

The Board is very pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Nordstrom as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Tennis NSW. Maria has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Basketball NSW and is currently on the board of Sport NSW, bringing extensive experience in sport administration, organisational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cultural and structural reform. The Board is confident that Maria’s experience and leadership will provide stability and continuity during this transition period.

Maria will work closely with the Board and the executive leadership team to ensure operational stability and to progress key organisational priorities. Maria will commence with Tennis NSW on 27 January 2026. 

The Board will now start the recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive Officer. This process will be conducted in a thorough and considered manner to ensure the appointment of a long-term leader for Tennis NSW.

We thank our members, stakeholders, and partners for their understanding and continued support during this period of leadership transition. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
