Seventeen-year-old Giselle Isabella Guillen (NSW) celebrated a career milestone this week, lifting her first Australian Pro Tour trophy as the 2025–26 season got underway in Tweed Heads.
The Sydneysider went from qualifier to champion on the New South Wales north coast, securing her maiden senior singles crown with a hard-fought 6-3 1-6 6-4 victory over compatriot Catherine Aulia (NSW) in the final.
Their three-set final was contested over two days, with Guillen and Aulia required to play the final game of the match on Monday after bad weather suspended play on Sunday.
Guillen’s road to the title was nothing short of impressive. She toppled three seeded players during the tournament, including a comeback win over No.2 seed Monique Barry (NZL) in the second round after dropping the opening set.
In doubles, Aulia teamed up with Lily Fairclough (WA) to upset top seeds Barry and Gabriella Da Silva-Fick (NSW), claiming the title 2-6 6-4 [11-9].
Week two of the Tweed Heads International is now underway, with Da Silva-Fick leading the charge as one of five Australians seeded in the draw.
