METRO SYDNEY COMMITTEE

The Tennis NSW Board is calling for expressions of interest to join the Tennis NSW Metro Sydney Committee.

The Metro Sydney Committee (Metro Sydney) is a standing committee of the Tennis NSW Board which has oversight of tennis activities in the metropolitan area of Sydney. Metro Sydney acts as an advisory body to the Tennis NSW Board and works closely with Tennis NSW management to provide strategic advice on, and deliver, a range of objectives including but not limited to a strong competition framework and culture across metropolitan Sydney, developing and implementing a coaching activation plan to increase the metropolitan coach workforce, and to develop and oversee action plans to complement the development of metropolitan based players. Participation on Metro Sydney is voluntary and will not be remunerated. Metro Sydney generally meets four to five times per year.

Metro Sydney is looking for individuals with varied skills and/or experiences in tennis in the metropolitan context e.g. playing experience, club involvement, experience delivering tournaments/events, or experience running or managing a tennis venue. Metro Sydney is also looking to establish a committee that is geographically representative of the entire metropolitan Sydney tennis community. Individuals with diverse backgrounds of all kinds are welcome and encouraged to apply.

REGIONAL COMMITTEE

The Tennis NSW Board is calling for expressions of interest to fill Regional Committee (RC) Chair and Treasurer positions which are currently vacant.

The currently vacant positions are as follows:

  • Regional Committee Chair – Northeast
  • Regional Committee Treasurer – Northeast
  • Regional Committee Treasurer – Northwest

It is expected that persons expressing interest in filling the above positions will be active participants in the tennis region relevant to the RC which they are interested in joining.

The RCs are sub-committees of the Tennis Country Management Committee (Tennis Country) and are established to work alongside Tennis NSW management to consider and deliver competitive playing opportunities for the entire tennis community, but with a focus on their specific region. The RCs act as an advisory body to the Tennis NSW Board and work closely with Tennis NSW management to provide strategic advice on, and deliver, a range of objectives including but not limited to a strong competition framework and culture across regional NSW, developing and implementing a coaching activation plan to increase the regional coach workforce, and to develop and oversee action plans to complement the development of regional based players. Participation on an RC is voluntary and will not be remunerated.

The Tennis NSW Board is looking for individuals with demonstratable skills relevant to the position i.e. previous experience chairing a committee or similar and/or relevant financial qualifications or experience. The Board also considers it desirable that persons on an RC will have varied skills and/or experiences in tennis in the regional context e.g. playing experience, club involvement, experience delivering tournaments/events, or experience running or managing a tennis venue. Individuals with diverse backgrounds of all kinds are welcome and encouraged to apply.
