Tennis NSW is delighted to announce that Darren Simpson has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

A highly experienced and respected sports administrator, Darren will join Tennis NSW with a wealth of experience at grassroots community sport in NSW. Prior to this appointment he has worked with AFL NSW/ACT, Greyhound Racing NSW and most recently Netball NSW. As well as this he spent four years as the CEO of Sport NSW which gave him a breadth of experience across a multitude of sports.

Darren has spent the majority of his career working in sport delivering for the grassroots community. In his 14 years working at the State Sporting Organisation level he has travelled the state extensively working on the ground assisting sporting organisation’s to grow and thrive, whilst being able to build relationships with people and stakeholders which he considers one of his greatest strengths.

Darren said he was excited to be given the opportunity to lead such an iconic sport, “I am energised by the opportunity to build on the all-important Tennis NSW Vision 2025 strategy and to be part of fostering a love of tennis in every NSW community.”

“Like so many Australians I am a lifelong follower of tennis and feel honoured to be given the opportunity to contribute to the sport.”

The Tennis NSW Board congratulate Darren on his appointment.

Darren’s appointment follows an extensive and thorough independent Executive search and he will commence in the role officially on 16 December 2021. We look forward to introducing Darren to our tennis community in due course.
