Dear NSW tennis community
Tennis NSW is writing to confirm the changes made to the current Public Health Order (PHO) to enable up to 1,000 people to participate in a ‘community sporting event’. A ‘community sporting event’ is defined in the PHO to include a training session.
These changes increase the previous limit of 200 fully vaccinated persons participating in tennis. The Office of Sport’s update in relation to these changes can be found here for your reference.
As a result of these changes, Tennis NSW considers that for fully vaccinated members of our community then our Member venues can return to normal operations. However, there are still important requirements that operators must comply with in respect of a COVID-19 Safe Outdoor Gathering for a community sporting activity. We have updated our Return to Tennis Guide and FAQs to reflect these changes.
